Udi Baron and his wife Fern founded Udi The Sandwich Man in Denver, Colorado in 1994. Their premise was simple: everyone loves delicious food—why not make some? In the years since, with their daughter Robin and son Etai also on board, and with continued attention to superior ingredient quality, great culinary sense, and excellent customer service, what started as a small ready-to-eat sandwich business has grown into six thriving family businesses: a local artisan bakery (where we bake our legendary Udi’s breads), a catering company with a state-of-the-art kitchen where we make everything in-house, six cafes, and two full service restaurants.
At Udi’s Catering, we take the job of feeding busy hungry people seriously. We know that just because you’re on a tight schedule doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a good meal—in fact, when you’re busiest, it’s even more important to eat well and eat right.

All 6 Udi’s cafés share an emphasis on fresh, natural ingredients and simple, authentic dishes, and each one has a unique culinary focus and personality. At Udi’s Broadway, Louisville, CU Denver, CU Boulder and Fitzsimmons, delicious breakfast pastries and coffees, our famous sandwiches made on Udi’s artisan breads, and leafy green and whole grain salads are available for take out or to enjoy in the cafés’ casual, sunny atmospheres—the Fitzsimmons location features a grab-and-go express line, perfect for those time-crunched days.
Whether you’re in the mood for simple, home-cooked American style favorites like oven-roasted chicken and house-cut fries (Udi’s Stapleton) or the soul-satisfying flavors of authentic, wood-fired pizza (Olde Town Arvada and Colfax), our larger restaurants offer a warm, inviting gathering place for friends and family. The Stapleton and Olde Town Arvada Udi’s restaurants are centrally located in the heart of their communities—easy walking distance for neighbors, and well-worth the drive for everyone else in the Denver metro area.
Headed up by Maurizio Negrini, a third-generation artisan baker from Italy, our artisan bakery produces Udi’s famously delectable, beautiful to behold, hand-shaped batards, baguettes, boules, challas, ciabattas, focaccias, levains, and rusticos, to name a few.
